Mr Arno A. Evers, a man whose retirement is far from a quiet retreat. This retired but unwearied professional was once the owner of Arno A. Evers FAIR-PR. With a diverse career that began in the electronics industry and extended to searching for oil in the Middle East, his path eventually led him to the German Aircraft Industry for over two decades. In 1990, he embarked on a new adventure by establishing Arno A. Evers FAIR-PR, making waves in international trade shows, including the world-renowned CeBIT.
Notably, in 1995, he initiated the Group Exhibit Hydrogen and Fuel Cells at the annual Hannover Fair. Despite heading towards early retirement, Mr Evers remains an avid advocate for sustainable energy, authoring “The Hydrogen Society…more than just a Vision?” to educate global citizens about the intricacies of the energy system.

#WHF: What motivated your decision to prioritize hydrogen as a fuel source over other available alternatives in the market, given your long-term involvement in the hydrogen industry?
Mr Evers: When I founded the Group Exhibit Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the year 1995, first together with Deutsche Messe AG, from 1997 until 2006 upon my own risk, at the then biggest Industrial Fair of the world, I had a good knowledge about the potential of hydrogen as an energy carrier already.
Coming originally from the European Aircraft Industry, where I was employed, from 1969 through 1993, I knew that my former Airbus colleagues already were already working on a hydrogen-powered Airbus, called CRYOPLANE: For more info.
Also I knew, that many car manufacturers like Audi, BMW, Daimler, General Motors, and Volkswagen were working on hydrogen-powered cars since a long time: For more info.
Also I was aware of the fact some 25 years ago, that hydrogen could be used for what is today called: Sector coupling of electricity in the grids.
#WHF: What are the most environmentally sustainable and economically viable processes for hydrogen production, taking into account the global objective of achieving net-zero emissions?
Mr Evers: That is easily answered in one word only: Decentralization. ONLY with decentralized solutions, which are owned and operated by the end-users worldwide, we can achieve the high environmental targets set and agreed upon by governmental bodies.
#WHF: How can hydrogen as a fuel source effectively compete with conventional fossil fuels in terms of energy efficiency and overall sustainability, taking into consideration its production, storage, transportation, and environmental impact, as well as its potential applications in various industries and sectors?
Mr Evers: See A2. That can only be achieved, when we take the matter out of the hands of today’s monopolies. Because they are responsible for the mess, of which our global energy infrastructure is suffering today.
#WHF: How do you envision the global hydrogen market evolving in the coming years, taking into account factors such as technological advancements, policy initiatives, and market dynamics, and what are the potential growth prospects and challenges it may encounter?
Mr Evers: That depends, when hydrogen will still be used as it is planned today by globally-in-informed governments worldwide, which are influenced by the above mentioned monopolies, not much will change for the environment. #WHF: How can events such as the World Hydrogen Forum contribute to the advancement and increased awareness of hydrogen as a sustainable and viable source of energy, considering their potential to foster collaboration, showcase technological developments, and engage key stakeholders in the hydrogen industry?
Mr Evers: That can easily be done, when the platform World Hydrogen Forum is really being used, to distribute real background information about the potential of hydrogen. What is needed now, is more knowledge about the truth and not things, which are not really good for mankind and the environment. At this time, only support is given to the owners and operators of the energy infrastructures, be it electricity, gas, or fuel. Which they do not deserve, as they knew all this maybe for 50 years. And the people inside those organizations did not change them on their own initiative.
