News, Inventions HANNOVER FAIR 2006:
At Hannover Fair 2006 Fraunhofer ISE will display a miniature electrolyser (Mini-Ely) developed through the cooperation of FSM-Elektronik, FuMa-Tech, Prinz, Ultratroc, Werner Herr GmbH and the GKSS Institute. The Mini-Ely has an output of 100 liters of hydrogen per hour at a pressure of 10 bar and is designed for metal hydride storage filling. The entire project was supported by VDIVDE-IT.
Additionally Fraunhofer ISE will display a prototype for a micro-reformer designed for a fuel cell capacity of 300 W. The micro-reformer can generate hydrogen from ethanol or from petroleum allowing it to operate on whichever fuel is currently accessible.
The third highlight of their exhibit will be the OutdoorFC System: a portable fuel cell system with a capacity of 15 W that can start, operate and turn off in temperatures ranging from –20°C to +40° C. OutdoorFC is based on a hybrid system which means that the fuel cell charges a battery from which even more energy can be drawn. The VDIVDE-IT -supported project is a cooperative development of Masterflex, Zentro-Elektrik, Rietschle-Thomas, VMS Verkehrsmesstechnik, Fraunhofer IPT as well as RWTH Aachen.
