10/Meeting
the Future
Theme:
Factory of the Future
Motto:
Digitalization - Visualization – Virtualization.
From virtual world to real production.
Realization:
Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation
(IPA), Stuttgart
Markus
Mersinger of Fraunhofer Institute Manufacturing Engineering
and Automation (IPA) from Stuttgart presents the workstation
of the future and explains to us the vision of the remote
controlled factory
Andreas
Weimer demonstrates the controlling of a manufacturing process
via ISDN connection. First a letter or any other graphical
element can be placed on a virtual workpiece and afterwards
the data is transferred to the company Hueller Hille GmbH.
On the live display the user gets the ability to supervise
the real production process, how the plate is milled in Ludwigsburg.
Mr Mersinger presents the result: The EXPO 2000 writing milled
into an aluminum plate. This example shows, how simply through
the new user interface the transformation ability of production
processes can be controlled.
In the remote controlled " factory of the future " product
and process optimization are facilitated over a virtual simulation
of the job. Modifications of the process can be simulated
and tested by the data base of the 3D simulation beforehand
and then transferred to reality.
